Big White/Blue Pleated Polyester Filter Cartridge


These cartridges are compatible within whole house/high flow filter systems. These filter systems are designed to remove contaminants from the entire water supply to your home – providing near pure water to all the faucets/showers in the residence.

The micron rating of a filter cartridge determines the ability of the filter’s media to remove contaminants by the size of particles it is exposed to. For example, a filter that is marked or rated “10 micron” has some capability to capture particles as small as 10 micrometers. Although, the micron rating does not determine the exact efficiency of contaminant holding capability of the filter, it will help you determine which filter is most suitable according to your water supply.

Filtration Process

Pleated polyester cartridges offer a simple, practical means of filtration.

Ease of maintenance, high dirt holding capacities, high flow rates and a low pressure drop provide the lowest cost per litre filtered.

When the flow rate significantly slows, the cartridge may simply need cleaning and this can be done by placing the cartridge under a running tap/ gentle hose.

Reusability of these cartridges means that the pleated polyester cartridge is an extremely cost effective means of filtration in comparison to the standard disposable type cartridges. They can be cleaned several times before a new replacement is required. A new cartridge may be needed when cleaning is no longer effective. Life of the cartridge will depend on your water quality and cartridge micron rating (e.g. 5 micron cartridges may only be cleaned once or twice).
